JAMAR DIXON, ACADEMY DIRECTOR

THE PROGRAM

At St. John’s Soccer Academy (SJSA), our main objective is to develop complete soccer players. We’ll be focusing on specific fundamentals of the game such as team morale and culture, mental and physical aspects of the game, as well as technical and tactical awareness. St. John’s Academy wants to create a safe and supportive environment where players can demonstrate their abilities while adapting to a unique coaching philosophy.

Players train three mornings a week, led by Jamar Dixon and executed by a talented, experienced coaching team familiar with Academy experiences and post-secondary pathways. In general, the year begins in the ITC, working through small spaces and technical ball work. Mid-year, the athletes add a gym program, targeted for Football players. Also mid-year, the athletes train using Futsal. Finally, they move to a blend, adding large field shape-work.

Games are against other academies. Additionally, according to the current rules, players who transfer in may also play BC highschool soccer if they meet eligibility rules. Those who do not meet will “red-shirt” for a year and be eligible to play the following year. The BC highschool league runs in September and October annually.
